Sarah Bacza, Assistant Director
My name is Sarah Bacza and I am a
graduate of Franciscan University with a double major in
Theology and Catechetics. I grew up in Newtown, PA as a member of
St. Andrew's Parish. My prayer was that the Lord would lead me to
the place of ministry where He was calling me to serve Him. Now as a
staff member of the Newman Center, I trust that the Lord has brought
me here and will give me the grace to do whatever is needed of me. I
am so blessed to be a part of the Newman Center and am excited to
begin the new school
year.

beginning of what I am sure will be an
amazing journey.
Former Newman Center
Staff
Regina McCarthy, Secretary
Regina brought her smiling
face and caring voice to the Newman Center since 1990. She worked as
our receptionist, secretary, and bookkeeper--and those are just her
formal titles! She also served as a minister of hospitality,
offering a warm welcome to all who call or stop by the Newman
Center. Many alumni have called years after their graduation, just
to hear Regina say "Good afternoon, Newman Center, may I help you,
please?" Thank you Regina and God bless you for your 20
years of loving service to our Lord. |

Gil Martinelli
When Gil retired from the Navy Yard in 1987, he
switched from building ships to keeping the Newman Center building
afloat as our Maintenance Engineer. For 17 years he did everything
from changing those pesky outdoor lightbulbs to hanging liturgical
banners to figuring out how to make this do that for a fraction of
the cost. Now that he has retired for the second time, you can often
at his beach house in Tuckerton, NJ, catching fish and telling fish
stories! |
Tricia Riordan
Tricia joined our staff in January, 2000, right
after graduating from WCU in December with a degree in Secondary
Education (Math). She is pictured here as part of "Project Mexico
2000." After leaving our staff in 2002, Tricia completed her
Master's in Pastoral Ministry at Boston College in 2004. She is
currently a campus minister at Merrimack College in Andover, MA,
running "MerrimAction," their community service program.
