CNSA Prayer Nights
CNSA is committed to holding periodic prayer nights. Student volunteers meet with Fr. Nordeman and Rory to design prayer experiences that express the spiritual hungers of students. The students then lead the prayer for just about an hour on a Wednesday evening. To find out when our next prayer night is, keep your eye on the Church bulletin.
30 Days with the Saints
Enrich your prayer life with a great spiritual teacher and a community of faith! Participants will receive a book of daily meditations by a particular saint (for Fall 2007, the saint was St. Catherine of Siena). We gather for an opening session in which we learn a bit about the Saint and talk about how to use the book. Throughout the chosen month, participants pray with the book at their own convenience, staying in touch through an e-mail list. We then have a closing celebration at at the end of the month. Previous Saints have included: Francis de Sales, Therese of Lisieux and Francis of Assisi. (Please note, this program costs $7 for students, $9 for WCU faculty and staff each to cover most of the cost of the books.)
Personal Prayer in Chapel
Our beautiful chapel is open whenever the building is open. Please feel welcome to come, close the door, and spend some time in the presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. In the back of the chapel you will find a Bible and other prayer resources, as well as a CD player with reflective music.
Retreats
The Newman Center offers several retreats each year, which provide a wide variety of opportunities for prayer and faith sharing. Why not treat yourself to a retreat this semester?
